The Coop

Hamilton has been booming with new restaurants lately and I couldn't be more happy! The Coop is quite an interesting spot, food is paid up front, and then delivered to your table. Music is on full -one moment it's rap, and the next rock. The service was very friendly and outgoing, but lastly, beware of parking. I was very lucky to find a spot on the street, but I don't foresee this being the norm with this restaurant being located across from Hess, and on a corner of a street with no private parking.

The first order to the table were the devilled fried eggs. They were great! They were made in the traditional way, but then coated to fry.  I believe the white sauce was ranch, but it was a little too lemony for my taste. If you don't like devilled eggs, I don't believe them being fried will change your mind.

The chicken and waffles were the bomb! By itself the sweetness of the waffle and the seasoned chicken were amazing, together topped with a fried egg, it was orgasmic. The maple syrup was unique, as it was blended with some spices. I didn't like the syrup at first, but I kept coming back to it. Although the portion itself was small, it ended up being the perfect size and surprisingly filling. I was actually glad by the end that it wasn't any bigger.

I ended the experience with their custard swirl, half vanilla and half chocolate, garnished with cotton candy and placed in a crisp waffle bowl. It wasn't anything mind blowing, but it was a good cherry to top an already impressive cake.

All in all, the food here is great, but not a place I see myself being a regular at, maybe only those days when I'm feeling extra naughty. The Coop Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
