75km Heart & Stroke

Tuesday, June 07, 2016
On June 5 2016, I smashed 75km on my BMX for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. It was nice to have some roadies root me on, one even gave me a fist pump - but it wasn't until near the end of my adventure that the other bikers saw that I was legit.

Speaking of being too legit to quit, there were many moments along this route that I wanted to quit, but I kept going, and only stopped once for 5 minutes to take the photo above. In hindsight, I should have taken more breaks, but I felt starting again after a break, would be harder than just pushing through the pain.  There were a number of literally paths that gave me the option to finish earlier or continue on my 75km conquest, and I reluctantly veered towards the harder of the options.

My will power was tested, but I did it, and I finished. Single gear, flat pedals, rain and no training leading up to this. What up bro. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported my ride for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
